December 2007

First off, let me apologize for not updating my site with any updates recently, but the reasoning for this is due to the amount of things that have happened.  Unfortunately not all of them good.  Going about my regular daily online scanning of publisher's--small and large who were either currently accepting my type of manuscripts or not.  I had sent off about 10 queries which I try to keep as my daily goals.  Researching these companies first was always a must.  Then, something I had not expected, an email popped in from one of the publishers I had queried.  Their response was very uplifting and they requested a partial of my work.  Completely giddy, I set off to creating as good a partial as I could. (If a company requests the first three chapters, which is commonplace, then you can't give them your best three chapters fifty pages in).  Once i finished the partial, I researched the company one last time to confirm they were what I was looking for, either a trade publisher or a small press publisher. (They say to work your way up from the bottom, so why not take the small publisher route than, right?)  After two weeks of sending the partial and trying not to get too impatient, or excited (which was a feat in itself), I received a reply email.  The company, who shall remain nameless out of respect, informed me they were sending it to an editor for review.  At this point I was so happy because I saw this as a good thing, however my excitement was short lived when two weeks later I was turned down.  At first I admit I was upset, hurt, but then I realized that this company gave me the tools, the advice to finally get published and it was something I had dreaded...a complete rewrite of all three books.

So, this is why I have not updated my site with news, because I have been fully emersed in trying to rewrite all three novels.  The biggest difference will be that all three will become one great novel.  I have faith in this storyline and I will at least try hard to make it 'publishable'.

When it's completed I will leave a bold update for any of you who are following my plight.

I have received many emails from published authors to those who are still fighting and I appreciate all your kind thoughts and words of strength.  This definitely IS a tough profession, something I had never thought before, but I see as all other authors see.  If I wake up thinking of it, and dream of it, and obsess over it, than this is where I am meant to be, so now's the time to fight for it.

Thanx Greatly and please everyone have a wonderful 2008.
